Our theme was the most dangerous creature in the world, women. All music was performed by female artists, and their songs represented the gamut of the female condition - from friend, lover, sweetheart, floxie, heart-breaker and evil-doer.
For those wanting to know about the music - here's what we played last week:
- Lavay Smith and Red Hot Skillet Lickers - “Miss Brown To You”
- Imperial Swing Orchestra – "The Girl With The Crimson Hair"
- Brenda Lee – "You’re in the Doghouse Now"
- Peggy Cone and Her Central Park Stompers - "Not Like Other Girls"
- Lost Continentals - "Notorious"
- Dolly Dawn and her Dawn Patrol - "Hep-Tee-Hootie (Jukebox Jump)"
- International Sweethearts of Rhythm - "Jump Little Children"
- Peggy Lee - "That's Why the Lady is a Tramp"
- The Camaros - "Danger Girls"
- Lily Wilde and Her Insect Ball - "Tess’ Torch Song"
- Puppini Sisters - Bei Mir Bist Du Schoen
- Andrew Sisters/Christina Aguilera - Bugle Woogie Bugle Boy/Candyman Mash-up
- The Dino Martinis - Ring

Swing Shift Radio Ep2011-2 - Women
For all of you who asked where was Minnie the Moocher, she was with us in spirit, but as far as I know, Cab Calloway was a man, and that disqualified him from this weeks rundown (sorry, Jay).
Our Martini Time segment was headlined by guest mixologist Delilah from L.U.P.E.C. (Ladies United for the Preservation of Endangered Cocktails) who brought us the recipe for the infamous "Pink Lady".
See you next week on The Swing Shift!
